Hannah Arendt (Oct. 14, 1906 – Dec. 4, 1975) “The sad truth is that most evil is done by people who never make up their minds to be good or evil.” Arendt is a German-born political theorist. As an assimilated Jew, she escaped Europe during the Holocaust and became an American citizen. Her works describe and analyze the nature of power, direct democracy, authority and totalitarianism.
